Jesus entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. The Sacrament of Penance is God's gift to us so that any sin committed after Baptism can be forgiven. In confession, we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. It is a holy moment in which we place ourselves in his presence and honestly acknowledge our sins, especially mortal sins. With absolution, we are reconciled to God and the Church. The Sacrament helps us stay close to the truth that we cannot live without God. "In him, we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is celebrated at Saint Mary of the Annunciation at the following times: Monday through Friday, immediately following the 8:00 a.m. Mass Saturday, immediately following the 8:00 a.m. Mass, and 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Sunday, 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. During the college academic year, join the College of Charleston Catholic Campus Ministry for Adoration and Confession at 4:00 p.m. on the first and third Sundays, prior to their 5:00 p.m. Mass. Subject to change; please check their website for the most current schedule. You may also schedule an appointment directly with one of our priests.
