OCIA - ORDER OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS

OCIA, or the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process by which one is accepted fully into the sacramental life of the Catholic Church. It is a communal process that usually takes a few months, traditionally ending at the Easter Vigil Mass. The process mimics that of the early Church, when people who witnessed the difference in the way early Christians acted and lived entered into a lengthy process of discernment, learned more about the faith, and then decided if they wanted to join those who followed Christ. 

Perhaps you are not Catholic but married to a Catholic and would like to worship with your spouse. Perhaps you were baptized as a child but were never confirmed. Perhaps your formal study of the Catholic faith ended when you left Catholic grade school, and you would now like to delve into it in a deeper way. Or perhaps you know someone in your life who is interested in becoming Catholic.
